Kenya Power contractors urged to speed up implementation of projects

Kenya Power contractors have been urged to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to set safety standards.

Speaking to more than 400 low and medium voltage contractors at Stima Club, Kenya Power’s Managing Director and  Chief Executive Officer Ben Chumo also said that the company will no longer engage contractors who hold projects past the set completion dates.

Technical hitch at Kiambere causes power outage in Coast Region

We wish to report that power supply to Coast region has been disrupted following a technical hitch which occurred at an electrical equipment in Kiambere affecting a high voltage transmission line linking Nairobi and Coast. Our engineers are on site working to repair the fault which occurred at last night in order to restore power affected areas including Mombasa, Malindi, Lamu, Kwale and their environs. It is projected that full repairs will take approximately two hours. The Management of KPLC regrets any inconvenience caused by the outage.
