CIO 100 Awards

CIO 100 Annual Symposium and Awards now in its fourth year is by no means East Africa’s premier ICT networking and awards event. The event presents a fertile platform to network, learn and thoughts and ideas with the regions IT industry leaders.

This year CIO100 award ceremony was held in Enashipai Resort, Naivasha from November 13th to 14th, 2014 and attracted over 280 top CIOs and IT Executives from the Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi making it a truly East African regional event.

It is a celebration of 100 organizations (and the people within them) that are using information technology in innovative ways to deliver business value, whether by creating competitive advantage, optimizing business processes, enabling growth or improving relationships with customers.

CIO East Africa together with Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC) and the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology awarded Kenya Power through its Telecommunications Business Unit for its achievement in the ICT sector. It was ranked among the top 100 organizations that have established excellence within the ICT industry.

The Telecommunication Business Unit (TBU) is Kenya Power’s U-Telco that is responsible for the development and leasing of fibre optics infrastructure and other related services.
