Three suspected conmen arrested in Kisii

Nairobi, November 5th 2018...... Three suspected conmen have been arrested in Kisii for calling Kenya Power customers and demanding money from them...

The three; Jerald Gesuma Ondieki, Beutah Nyamongo Mangera and Victor Shem Nyamato were nabbed by DCI officers who were working in collaboration with Kenya Power security officers.

One HP laptop, 9 mobile phones and a list of customers with their contacts were recovered from the suspects. They were booked at Kisii police station.

Kenya Power urges customers to always apply for electricity connection and make all payments for the same at the Company’s banking halls spread across the country and not to individuals.

The Company is also appealing to members of the public to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or Kenya Power offices.

“The arrests come at a time when the Company has heightened security operations to stamp crimes affecting power supply such as illegal connections and vandalism, among others. Kenya Power will continue carrying out surveillance across the network and any person found culpable will be arrested,” said Kenya Power’s Ag. Security Manager Stephen Mumo.
