Kenya Power enhances capacity at Garissa substation
Nairobi, 13 May 2019..……Kenya Power has installed a 2.5MVA transformer at the Garissa substation to enhance its capacity and ensure enough supply to Garissa town and its environs.
Services restored as system upgrade is completed
Nairobi, 10 April 2019… The Kenya Power’s prepaid system upgrade that was taking place from yesterday, Tuesday 9th April to Wednesday, 10th April, was completed successfully and services restored by 10am today, the company said.
Kenya Power to upgrade prepaid system
Nairobi, 8 April 2019..…… Kenya Power will shut down the prepaid system from 11.00 p.m tomorrow to facilitate transfer of data to a new hardware. The system is scheduled to resume operation at 6.00 p.m on Wednesday, 10th April 2019.

Kenya Power posts KShs.2.5 billion in half year profit
Nairobi, 21st February, 2019………Kenya Power has recorded KShs.2.5 billion in net profit for the half year period to 31 December 2018.
During the trading period, revenue from electricity sales increased by 21.3 % from KShs.46.93 billion to KShs.56.95 billion. The revenue growth was as a result of increase in unit sales where the utility sold 4,106 GWh as at 31 December 2018 compared to 3,893 GWh as at 31 December 2017.
Kenya Power holds Customer Open Day in Eldoret
Nairobi, 13 February 2019..…… Kenya Power will hold a two- day Customer Open Day in Eldoret town as part of the Company’s drive to improve service delivery to customers.
The event will be held on 14th and 15th February 2019 at the off street parking area around Zion Mall and is expected to benefit customers within the North Rift region. It is one of the several initiatives the Company has undertaken to enhance engagement with customers with the overall objective of increasing their satisfaction.

Nairobi, January 14, 2019……. Two notorious vandals in Uasin Gishu were on Friday sentenced to 11years and 18years of imprisonment respectively for vandalising transformers and stealing up to 820 litres of transformer oil.

Nairobi, 23rd November, 2018………Kenya Power has today announced a gross profit of KShs.3.1 billion for the year ended 30th June 2018.
During the trading period, electricity sales increased by 2.3 % from 8,272 million units the previous year to 8,459 million units due to an expanded customer base. Consequently, revenue from sale of electricity grew from KShs.91.95 billion to KShs.95.463 billion...
Man sentenced to 10 years in prison for vandalism
Nairobi, November 20, 2018…….A Nanyuki court has sentenced a suspect to 10 years in prison or a fine of KShs.5 million for vandalism. The suspect was also handed a 6-months jail term or a fine of KShs.50,000 for the second count of unauthorized disconnection of electricity.

Kenya Power to shut down prepaid system for maintenance
Nairobi, 5th November 2018……The Prepaid System will be shut down from 10pm Wednesday (7th November 2018) to 6am Thursday (8th November 2018) for maintenance. Token generation will resume thereafter until 10pm on Thursday (8th November 2018) when the second shutdown will start and end at 6am on Friday (9th November 2018).
